1. Can I schedule a trial class?

Yes! We offer all prospective students a no-obligation, FREE trial lesson. This is your chance to meet the teacher and get a sense of what a regular lesson would look like. If all goes well, we will schedule you a weekly lesson time.

2. Do I need an instrument for the FREE trial lesson?

Yes, students are expected to have their own instrument for the free trial lesson. If you need help choosing one, here are a couple of good options: Piano Keyboard HERE, Guitar HERE. To explore other choices, visit our School Store. Most Amazon purchases offer a reasonable return policy in the event that lessons don't work out.

3. Does my piano need to be tuned?

Yes. A piano should be tuned at least once per year to maintain proper sound quality and prevent long-term damage. When a piano goes too long without tuning, not only does it begin to sound off, but internal tension builds unevenly across the strings. The longer you wait, the harder it becomes for the piano to hold a stable tuning, and neglected instruments can require more extensive and costly repairs down the road.

Think of it like routine maintenance or an annual oil change for your car. Regular tuning protects your investment and ensures your child is learning on an instrument that sounds correct and inspiring. 4. Do you offer advanced piano lessons?

Yes! At Brett’s In-Home Music, we work with serious piano students who are ready for structured, high-level training. We have teachers who specialize in preparing students for the internationally recognized Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations. More info HERE.

5. Do you offer lessons for students with special needs?

Yes! Our school offers personalized in-home music instruction for students with special needs. Lessons are taught by experienced, certified educators with backgrounds in music therapy, special education, and adaptive teaching. We focus on creating supportive, engaging, and accessible learning experiences tailored to each child’s unique strengths and goals.

6. Can I pay by Zelle or Venmo?
No. We accept credit cards, Apple Pay, and bank transfers only. All payments are securely processed through our school platform using automatic monthly payments via Stripe. Tuition is billed once per month for the upcoming month, and payment secures your reserved weekly lesson time on the teacher’s schedule.

7. Do you offer a sibling discount?
Yes! If you schedule two consecutive 30-minute lessons in the same house with the same teacher, they will be billed as a single 1-hour session. ​

8. Do you offer discounts?
Yes! We have an unlimited referral program and you can save hundreds of dollars on tuition a year simply by referring your friends to the school. For more information visit the "Referrals/Policies" page.

9. Do you offer recitals?

Yes! We offer two recitals each year—a Winter Recital with online video submissions and a Spring Recital, a huge in-person event. Our recitals showcase students of all ages, skill levels, and instruments, featuring solo performances, kids' bands, DJ music, and student-teacher collaborations. You'll see both young beginners and advanced musicians sharing talent. The Spring Recital is a must-see event, and friends and family are welcome to attend and support our amazing students!
