More than 10 years ago, Brett's In-Home Music began with just one teacher...me. I spent my days traveling from home to home across Northern New Jersey, teaching piano, guitar, drums, and just about every instrument I could. From the beginning, my goal was simple: make high-quality music lessons more convenient by bringing them directly into families' homes, instead of asking families to travel to a music store or studio.

As my student roster grew, I teamed up with talented colleagues, bandmates, and local music teachers I'd come to know and respect, people who shared my teaching philosophy and genuinely cared about helping students succeed. I wanted teachers who were dependable, knew how to keep lessons fun and engaging, and understood how to bring out the best in every student. Today, I'm proud to work alongside an incredible team of musicians and educators. Many continue to perform professionally, bringing that same passion, experience, and love of music into every lesson.​

I'm personally involved with every family who joins Brett's In-Home Music. I speak with every parent and take the time to get to know each student, including their age, personality, goals, experience, location, and schedule, before carefully matching them with the teacher I believe is the best fit. From there, I stay in close communication with both teachers and families, working behind the scenes to help every student succeed and ensure every family has the best possible experience with our school.

I grew up in Essex County, graduated from West Orange High School in 2000, and have spent most of my life in Northern New Jersey. Music lessons were an important part of my own childhood. I have fond memories of my mom driving me to piano lessons every week at the local music shop in Livingston. Music lessons were a huge part of my childhood, and I truly believe in the value of music education. It teaches discipline, builds confidence, and fosters a lifelong love of music. 

 

More than anything, I want families to feel confident they've found a music school they can trust. That's the standard I've tried to build Brett's In-Home Music around from the very beginning.
